Course Description:

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the principles and clinical application of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM), with a strong focus on classical herbal formulas and the formula lines developed by Giovanni Maciocia: The Three Treasures, Women’s Treasure, and Little Treasures.

Participants will gain insight into the historical development and theoretical foundations of CHM, including the five tastes, temperatures, eight methods, and herb-pairing theory (Dui Yao). The course also covers essential herb identification, formulation strategies, and dosage guidance.

A key focus of the course is the integration of classical theory with modern clinical needs. It examines Giovanni Maciocia’s adaptations of classical formulas—rooted in traditional theory—and how they can be used effectively in contemporary practice.
